Day 8 Killarney to Bansha

Sadly, it is time to leave Killarney. We could have spent a couple more days here and had time to wonder around town more. Sloane got to do that yesterday because she was pretty wore down and decided to sleep in then explore town while we drove the ROK. We have a fairly long drive to our next destination so we get loaded up and gone by 10. The office at the apartments didn't open until 9 but the desk girl didn't arrive until 9:45 to check us out. We enjoyed the amount of room we had in the apartments but miss the B&B's we stayed in earlier. Our only stop today is in Blarney to visit the Woolen Mills to do a ;ittle shopping and the Blarney Castle. The gardens surrounding the castle are very nice. We climb the long and cramped spiral stairs to the top to kiss the Blarney Stone. After Tim and I saw the location and what you have to go through to kiss the stone, we decide to just take pictures of Stacy and Sloane as they kiss it. You lay down on a mat, grab the bars and hold on while the man slides you upside down and back to reach the stone for the kiss. He then pulls you back up. Today is the sunniest and warmest day we have had so far, so the ice cream stand on the way out called to us. The Woolen Mills had the best selection and best prices we have found so far. We then traveled through some more beautiful countryside to reach out next 5 night stay in Bansha, Co Tipperary. We are staying in a traditional Irish Cottage, beautifully decorated and authentic. It has a peat fireplace that we hope to try out soon. A beautiful wisteria is in full bloom by the driveway on the side of the house which welcomes us with it fragrance.

The Blarney Stone is located at top of the castle, out over the edge on the left side of this picture.
